About
HEARTS Tech – ECG interpretation for Cardiology technologists What to expect before the course begins: When you sign up for this course, you will receive the HEARTS handbook 1-week prior to the start of the course. This book will cover the fundamentals of an ECG and explain the HEARTS approach in detail. Overarching goals of the course include: 1. Physiologic and pathophysiologic correlates to ECG findings; 2. HEARTS approach to ECG interpretation; and 3. Applying the HEARTS approach to high yield real clinical cases; 4. Identifying machine (& physician) interpretation errors; and 5. Take away key clinical pearls that can be applied in the real world. What to expect: In the first half of the workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of the HEARTS approach and understand how it can be used for physiological and pathophysiological correlation (review acquisition errors, arrhythmias including narrow/wide tachyarrythmias). In the second half, you will be exposed to high-yield ECG cases, including cases on brady/block/pacer, and cases on primary vs secondary ST/T changes (including a variety of chronic structural and acute ischemic abnormalities). The material includes 1. Pre-reading: 25 page manual including systematic approach to ECG interpretation and differentials, identifying artifact and lead misplacement, arrhythmias and pacemakers 2. Course: highly interactive small group learning WHERE: the course will be provided on ZOOM. We offer in-person courses for groups of people upon request. WHEN: Saturday March 8, 2025 @ 1000 ET – 1600 ET Limited space to allow for small group learning CEU Credits: Course approved by the Ontario Society of Cardiology technologists for 5.5 CEUs. Refund Policy: A 100% refund will be issued if cancellation is done more than 30 days prior to the start of the course; a 50% refund between 15-30 days; and no refund will be issued if 14 days or less notice is given.
